Barnes & Noble's new Nook Simple Touch Reader- White Digital Media

It seems as if there’s a new e-Reader on the block and it’s got quite the bells and whistles. Barnes & Noble unveiled its latest reader Tuesday morning that is the same size of a standard paperback book and has a battery life of two months – that’s right, two months. (The Kindle only has a battery life of less than a month.) Hopefully the new reader, named the Nook Simple Touch Reader, and its features will allow it to closely trail behind other tablets and readers released by Amazon and Apple.
Interesting enough, the announcement of the new Nook comes just days after John Malone of Liberty Media Corp offered to buy Barnes & Noble for $1 billion. Sources say the intent of Malone’s offer is so that he could take over the Nook brand and customers.

New version of Windows Phone 7..

The original Windows Phone 7 was first available on the market in 2010 and hasn’t really made a huge impact on consumers. I guess we’ve all been too consumed with Apple’s iPhones and Google’s Android smartphones. CNET says recent data shows that of the 100 million smartphones sold across the globe, only 1.6 million accounts for the sales of the Windows Phone 7.  See where the new OS phones include:

White Digital Media’s guide to a #winning! Facebook landing page for B2B brands

White Digital Media tells the world what great Facebook landing pages are all about for B2B companies
We’ve all heard the saying ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’, but we can’t deny one holy truth in marketing: image matters. This is true in every aspect of life and business. The image you present is utterly crucial to the type of awareness an audience has about your brand; it tells your clients to stay easy breezy when cutting that check your way. In the digital age, a company Facebook page is one critical piece to the puzzle in validating that ‘holy truth’ of brand imaging.
Needless to say there are a few things you should consider when developing your company’s Facebook landing page-the first thing a person sees when entering your page. This digital introduction to your brand is just as good as a first impression in the ‘real’ world. And, as we all know, first impressions can certainly play out unexpectedly sour.
For example, would you take serious fitness advice from a big fat guy? Or trust a dentist with rotten teeth to poke, prod, and drill your precious pearly whites? Hell no.
A first impression on social media can be just as threatening as the dentist example to a client who values his time and money just as much as you value your oral health. Having a mediocre presence on Facebook could have equally disqualifying reactions for new visitors and consumers if your landing page

Zappos' Tony Hsieh's Favorite Things by White Digital Media

The Zappos CEO sits down with Exec Digital to discuss Zappos Airline, how to deliver happiness, why he loves Las Vegas & other favorites
 Tony Hsieh

Tony Hsieh is a pretty cool guy. He might not be the CEO of the hour thanks to that silly little social network film, but that doesn’t really matter to him –he loves his job. Not too bad when less than a decade ago Zappos was pinching pennies every few months, and Mr. Hsieh was investing everything he had in the brand.
The fast growing start up began focusing on one thing: customer care. Today, after moving from the Bay Area to Las Vegas, Zappos is known for their dedicated and enthusiasticcustomer support. Exec Digital recently sat down with Tony Hsieh during his “Delivery Happiness” tour to find out what inspires this Harvard grad.
For three months this past summer, Tony Hsieh toured the country promoting the “WOW” theme in his book “Delivering Happiness,” his first forte into the entrepreneurial world. The laid back guy wasn’t too animated when talking about his passions, indulgences and favorite food, but when the conversation turned to Zappos, his love for the company became evident.
Favorite Restaurant: Simon at Palms Place
Favorite Thing about Vegas: “Outside the strip, you wouldn’t even know you were in Vegas, but it’s nice that it’s always there. I love that it’s always changing. In some ways it captures the spirit of life.”
Longest Customer Service Phone Call: 8 hours, 3 minutes
On Being Humble: “Being humble isn’t thinking less of yourself, it’s about thinking of yourself less”
Biggest indulgences: “I’m willing to pay extra for experiences, anything that saves me time, frustration, etc; so if I go watch a show, I’ll always try to buy the best seats possible”
Drives: ‘Mazda6’ worth around $20,000
Guilty pleasure: Points to his vodka: “shots? Vodka?”
How weird are you on a scale of 1 to 10? 8 ½
How happy are you? Ranges 7 ½ 8 ½
“We just want to build the Zappos brand to be about the very best customer service and customer experience, and hopefully ten years from now people won’t realize that we started out selling shoes.”

Bernie Madoff Seized Wine Cellar Vintage Collection

New York's Morrell & Company will auction off 58 lots of vintage collectable wines from Ponzi scheme criminal Bernie Madoff
 Bernie Madoff Wine Auction

Bernie Madoff’s luck just isn’t getting better. After being sentenced to rot in jail for the next 150 years, his son’s suicide and divorce from longtime wife, authorities have revealed that his wine collection is going up for auction as well. Not like the sucker would ever be able to drink the stuff again, but his vast collection of Bordeaux, including Château Pétrus 1990 priced alone at around $60,000 will go to support the families from which he stole.
The wines, set to appear on the auction block tomorrow from New York based Morrell & Company Fine Wine Auctions, have listed 58 lots that range from the extremely rare and vintage, to grocery store bottles of Cinzano Vermouth, prized at just $60.

As penned from the wine auction site Morrell & Company, it doesn’t matter if you’re knee-deep in collecting vintage wines or you’re simply interested in the extraordinary – this collection from Bernie Madoff is something that will satisfy all taste buds. Divided up by country, the listings include French offerings like red and white burgundy, including Corton-Charlemagne from Coche-Dury, Rhone Valley, Suternes and Cognac. Nearly everywhere known for their wine is represented in this wine collection from Bernie Madoff, and luckily up for auction May 18.
According to Morrell & Company, contents for the auction were seized from the household of Bernie Madoff, and specifically from the cellar as permitted by the United States Marshals office. While it’s a pretty well rounded lot, would you want a criminal’s sloppy seconds? If you’re purchasing the bottles for your own collection, or just want to help out those poor souls who lost $18.5 billion in the Madoff Ponzi scheme, then we might be able to look the other way.

White Digital Media Angry Birds Online - Thanks Google

Angry Birds finally makes its way to the web - the next step toward its worldwide gaming empire
 Angry Birds on Google Chrome

Angry Birds is quite simply the best waste of time ever created. For those of you who do not know what the popular game is, then I suggest you keep it that way if you’d like to have a productive day ever again. The game’s popularity exploded off of the iPhone roughly a year and a half ago and has since made its way to other platforms, including Android, collecting tens of millions of downloads. There has never been a web-based version – until now.
On May 12ththe Finnish game studio and creators of Angry Birds, Rovio, announced that an online version of the game is now available on the Google Chrome Web Store. The beta version includes sixty three levels from the original game, along with seven levels created specifically for Chrome. More levels are reportedly in the works. Until then, these seventy should keep you plenty distracted.

So what is it?
Angry Birds is a “point and shoot” style game. It’s very simple and extremely entertaining. The concept of the game is to propel “Angry Birds” into various objects. The more damage you cause, the angrier the birds get and the more points you rack up. Seems easy enough, yeah? Sure, it’s easy to play. The problem is putting it down.
Rovio is reportedly working on a Facebook version which will complete the game’s dominance of mobile and web-based games. The company is also working toward releasing versions for popular gaming consoles PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii which will launch these Angry Birds into a full-fledged, worldwide gaming empire.
